Day 0: ARRIVAL AT ENTEBBE AIRPORT

​

Meet and greet by your driver/guide, transfer to your accommodation.

 

Overnight in Entebbe

 

Day 1: TRANSFER TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

​

After breakfast, we leave Entebbe and drive to Lake Mburo National Park, which is the  national park famous for large zebra herds. If you want to we can go on an evening game-drive, then we will be able to search for nocturnal species in the park, including rare leopards.

Day 2: SAFARI AND BOAT-TRIP IN MBURO NATIONAL PARK

​

Breakfast with sunrise over the savannah, a morning game-drive, and later in the afternoon a boat-cruise on the lake.

Day 3: TRANSFER TO KISORO

​

After an early breakfast we drive to Kisoro.  On this drive we shall pass through some beautiful towns of south western Uganda, such as Mbarara, Ntungamo and Kabale. We will stop at Lake Bunyonyi, Icuya Forest and at the Muhavura Volcano viewpoint.

Day 4: GOLDEN MONKEY (OR GORILLA) TRACKING IN THE VIRUNGA

​

As we are staying close to the Virunga volcano chain, today we climb the Mgahinga-Vulcano, with a bamboo forest, for a  golden monkey hike.

​

Note : Gorilla Permit costs 600$ per person.

You can do gorilla-tracking instead of the Golden monkeys if you want to.

Day 5: CANOE EXCURSION ON LAKE MUTANDA

​

With a local guide we will walk to Lake Mutanda through local communities. Reaching Lake Mutanda we will cross the lake in a tree dug-out canoe. (if you wish you can peddle also).

Day 6: RAIN-FOREST-HIKE

​

Early in the morning, with a pakked lunch, we drive to Nkuringo for a walk through Bwindi Impenetrable Rainforest. You will walk up to Buhoma (northern sector of the forest) with a local guide. In the forest you can feel the real taste of the nature, birds will be singing for you as you walk.

Day 7: TRANSFER FROM BUHOMA TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

​

After Breakfast, with a feeling of being part of the movie “Gorilla’s in the Mist”, we continue to Ishasha, to search for tree climbing lions. 

In the late afternoon we continue to Kazinga-Channel, another part of Queen Elisabeth National Park.

Day 8: WILDLIFE VIEWING IN QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

 

After breakfast we drive to Mweya for a boat-trip on Kazinga-Channel. From the boat we will view lots of elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob, warthogs, hippos, crocodiles and many beautiful birds.

In the afternoon we will go to the Plains for lion tracking.  With a special ranger, we will be able to go of the tracks and follow the lions.

Day 9: TRANSFER TO KIBALE FOREST

​

Kibale National Park is one of Uganda's most forested areas and has the highest concentration of primates in all of East Africa.

We will be staying at Crater Lake Nkuruba, where we find different primates, such as the Red-tailed monkey and Black-and-white colobus.

Day 10: CHIMPANZEE HABITUATION

​

Today, we enter the rainforest for a full day chimpanzee habituation experience.

'Habituation' means letting animals to be used to people.  You will follow the chimpanzees from morning until evening, in order to learn more about the activities of the chimpanzees.

Day 11: TRANSFER TO MURCHISON NATIONAL PARK

​

Our longest drive on this safari, from Kibale to Murchison Falls National Park. In the late afternoon, we hope to arrive and check in at our lodge, for a delicious dinner at sunset.

Day 12: GAME DRIVE AND BOAT-TRIP IN MURCHISON NP

​

After an early breakfast we go for a wildlife viewing in the different sectors of Uganda's largest national park.  Murchison Falls National Park is the home to the Rothschild’s giraffe.

Lunch at the Nile and in the afternoon a boat launch to the narrow cliff where the powerful Nile River crashes down more to leave a refreshing breeze.

Day 13: RHINO SANCTUARY AND DEPARTURE

​

We leave Murchison NP and head to Kampala. Our Big Five list will only be complete if we make a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here we can track the endangered white rhinos at close range in a natural environment.

Day 14: TRANSFER TO ENTEBBE - DEPARTURE
